The effects of Fe/Al2O3 preparation technique as a catalyst on synthesized CNTs in CVD method

Abstract:
In this research, the growth of CNTs is carried out on Fe/Al2O3 substrate by CVD method. Preparation of Fe catalyst nanoparticle supported on Al2O3 substrate as catalyst system for growth of CNTs, were carried out by two different methods, in order to, investigate its effects on the quality of synthesized CNTs. In the first method, Fe nanoparticles (with the size of less than 60nm) were mixed with alumina powder, and in the second one impregnation method were employed to synthesis catalyst particle on alumina substrate from Fe(NO3)3.6H2O salt. The qualities of CNTs growth on the substrates produced by above methods were compared using SEM images and XRD pattern of the produced samples.
