-\\ 710MHz\\ frequency\\ band.\\ Analytical\\ equations\\ were\\ derived\r\r\nfrom\\ the\\ existing\\ first\\ principle\\ electromagnetic\\ models\\ of\\ a\\ single\r\r\nloop\\ antenna\\ for\\ the\\ proposed\\ antenna\\ characteristics.\r\r\nMATLABR2007a\\ was\\ employed\\ for\\ the\\ calculation\\ of\\ the\\ proposed\r\r\nantenna\\ characteristics.\\ The\\ results\\ show\\ that\\ the\\ gain\\ of\\ the\r\r\nantenna\\ is\\ between\\ 7dBi\\ and\\ 16dBi\\ as\\ against\\ the\\ chosen\\ design\r\r\ngain\\ of\\ 12dBi\\ within\\ the\\ frequency\\ band\\ of\\ consideration.\\ Also,\\ the\r\r\nantenna\\ voltage\\ standing\\ wave\\ ratio\\ is\\ between\\ 1.1\\ and\\ 2.4\\ within\r\r\nthe\\ frequency\\ band\\ of\\ consideration.\\ The\\ antenna\\ has\r\r\ndemonstrated\\ omnidirectional\\ field\\ patterns\\ with\\ -3dB\\ beamwidth\r\r\nof\\ 120o±5o.\\ However,\\ more\\ than\\ 89%\\ of\\ the\\ incident\\ power\\ would\r\r\nbe\\ absorbed\\ by\\ the\\ proposed\\ antenna\\ at\\ the\\ frequency\\ range\\ of\r\r\n203.25\\ -\\ 710MHz\\ as\\ illustrated\\ by\\ the\\ results\\ of\\ the\\ reflection\r\r\ncoefficient\\ and\\ the\\ return\\ loss\\ of\\ the\\ antenna,\\ and\\ in\\ agreement\r\r\nwith\\ the\\ earlier\\ work\\ by\\ other\\ authors.\\ Therefore,\\ this\\ study\\ has\r\r\nshown\\ that\\ the\\ proposed\\ antenna\\ demonstrates\\ high\\ performance\r\r\nat\\ the\\ bandwidth\\ of\\ 203.25\\ -\\ 710MHz\\ for\\ the\\ terrestrial\\ television\r\r\nnetwork\\ applications,\\ (impedance\\ bandwidth\\ of\\ ∼4:1\\ is\\ achieved). dc.rights
